Paralympic Sensation Kadeena Cox MBE to Attend European Neuro Convention
We are excited to announce that Paralympic sensation Kadeena Cox MBE will be attending the 2017 European Neuro Convention on 8th June. Kadeena, who became a household name after her ground-breaking performance at last year’s Paralympic Games in Rio, will be making a guest appearance on the DM Orthotics stand (no.8020) to talk about how the company’s products help her in training, competition and everyday life.
Kadeena made history at Rio 2016 by being the first athlete to compete across two different sports in the Games, for over 30 years. She amazed crowds world-wide, winning gold medals in the velodrome (C4-5 time trial) and the athletics track (T38 400m), setting a new World Record in the process; as well as taking a bronze in the T38 100m and silver in the T35-38 4x100.
The dual-Paralympian who has multiple sclerosis, had already developed a promising athletics career prior to her diagnosis in 2014. Determined to pursue her dream of becoming a world-stage competitor, she began to set her sights on the Rio Games as a para-athlete. As part of her regime on the lead up to the Games, Kadeena used a range of DM Orthotics’ Dynamic Movement Orthoses to help manage the symptoms of her neurological condition; and continues to do so.
Prior to Rio 2016, Kadeena was studying for her degree in Physiotherapy, something which she is passionate about completing, wanting to specialise in paediatrics. She is currently back in training in preparation for World ParaAthletics Championships (London 2017) this summer.
