How Functional Electrical Stimulation (FES) Can Improve Walking with Dropped Foot

19 Mar 2025
Neuro Innovation Hub

Neurological conditions such as stroke and MS make mobility difficult, increase the risk of falls and can significantly impact on quality of life. FES provides a means to strengthen or replace lost movement, increasing range and confidence in walking.

"I have been using a single channel stimulator for foot drop, due to MS, for 5 years. I wear it every day and it has allowed me to carry on working full-time. It is the single most helpful thing in this journey as a patient and has allowed me to remain as active as possible.” FES user.

In this demo we will show how the ODFS® Pace (FES device) can be quickly and simply set up to assist walking with different configurations to address specific walking problems.
