Working together to bring the European Neuro Convention back safely
The UK events industry has been hit with an unprecedented year following the COVID-19 pandemic. The good news is that the UK’s event industry is gearing up to help kickstart the economy and the European Neuro Convention is proud to be a part of this.
Our priority for the European Neuro Convention is supporting the safe delivery of high-quality care. We have been working closely with the NEC, Birmingham and internally to implement a number of measures, to ensure we can deliver a safe and meaningful event for the neuro industry.
The events industry is still awaiting confirmation from the Government on official guidance, however the ‘All Secure Standard Document’ has been in development in recent months. We believe the UK Government will endorse this manual as best practice guidance for the safe organising and delivery of exhibitions.
In the meantime, the NEC, Birmingham have developed the NEC Venue Protect which details everything the venue is doing to keep our exhibitors, partners and visitors as safe as possible. You can read the overview from the NEC here.
In more positive news for the NEC, the Piazza and a number of retail outlets reopened on the 15th June, allowing visitors to walk through from Birmingham International Train Station, through the venue and access the wider NEC campus.
The NEC is also actively supporting Project Confidence, the AEO, AEV and ESSA led initiative that provides a unified approach for communications that will help rebuild confidence in live events and reassure visitors that they’ll be provided with safe environments. In addition, they are actively engaging with other industries, in particular retail, as they return to business so they can learn from best practice in other sectors.
